James Lawrence Tyler (1902-1977) was an American composer and pianist. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia and began his musical studies at an early age. He went on to study at the Juilliard School of Music in New York City and later at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York.
Tyler's compositions include solo piano works, chamber music, and orchestral pieces. His music blends elements of traditional classical music with more modern and experimental techniques, creating a unique and innovative sound.
